I love love love this. I think it’s so important to be playful and allow room for humor in creative pursuits. There’s such a capitalist premise that if you try something, you need to be so good at it that you can make money from it. I think fighting the perfectionism urge and going back to fun and play is so liberating!

YES! I’m such a believer in creativity for the sake of exploration or play, not necessarily to complete or sell something. Sometimes stepping out of our normal discipline(s) helps us reconnect with why we create in the first place :)

I love this! There's such a pure joy in doing something just for its own sake, without pressure. During the pandemic I dabbled in candle making and started painting with acrylics and watercolor. I'm not good at it, but I still have a lot of fun and hang up my paintings around the house, just because they make me smile.

When I get stuck in my writing, I always do other things like draw or play video games. And, yes, I do consider video games to be a form of art because they are a mix of story and animation.

I fully agree with you! Video games require so much creativity and such a unique combination of skills. Their stories can be so invigorating!

I love this idea! I picked up candle making a few months ago, and I turn to it whenever I’m feeling stuck in my writing. The sweetest part is that I end up lighting those candles as part of my writing ritual; a little Creative circle of life!

Oh my gosh I love this! I sometimes light a candle at my desk in the evenings - knowing you made the one you're lighting must be such a magical feeling :')
